Yes and yes.

Start reading. Not something easily possible unless you research this fully. I've even seen some people obtain a turbo 2.4 and give up over missing a few minor tuning details. Engine tuning / fuel management is key.

Here is a good place to start:

J-body.org has a boost section... read some of the threads relative to the 2.4, fuel mods, tuning, too.

Mechanical fitment-wise, on the 96-98 chassis the steering rack placement and amount of additional room poses a challenge for obtaining a turbo manifold that makea fitment possible... you'll prolly need to have a turbo manifold custom fabricated.

In other words this is not for a beginer.

they dont make a "kit" for us 4th gen guys, and the j body kits have problems fitting into our cars, if you plan on doing it, it will be all custom. theres a lot more parts required for puting a turbo on a car then just slaping it on the exhaust and puting a pipe to the intake, u would need to get custom manifold, charge piping, fuel injectors, BOV(not nessarsary but helps), wastegate (if not internal on the turbo), custom exhaust, computer would need to be tuned. thats just the minimum u would need.

If you are planning on turbo'ing a car.. you may want to have a backup car to use as a DD. These types of projects always have setbacks that will keep the car in the garage, and you don't want to be without transportation.
