Ghetto Exhaust. I should be smacked

So my muffler fell off a couple days ago, so I needed to make it look legal until my friend finishes his semester so we can redo my exhaust.
I grabbed some plumber's tape and flexi-pipe:P , and this is what I ended up with.:lol:

Be nice, it should only be like this for a couple of days

The wrapping has holes in it and I have screws spanning the gaps, so it is pretty sturdy. But ugly and disgraceful at the same time:lol:

There is NOTHING wrong with getto rigging anything as long as it follows these 2 rules:
1. It works
2. No one can see it.

Zip ties hold up my tips on my GA and my GMC.

It sounds pretty cool, so I recorded it and converted to MP3 since WAV is so big. I'm keeping the file as a reference poit for when I compare exhausts and mufflers.
Sounds a little like a Mustang, but slightly higher pitched and uncontrolled. Doesn't have the ordered rumble of a well made exhaust like the SLP, but it is loud.

How heat resistant is that? Will it melt?

No, none if it is in danger of melting. Plumber's tape is just like the muffler hanger stuff you get at AutoZone but it interlocks.
It does rust, however, which is what led to the failure of the fix that came before it.

And BTW, one of the flexipipe pieces is painted black, you're not seeing things.

Question: Should I use a Flowmaster 40 series muffler and have one tip or use an 80 series mounted transversely behind the axle with 2 tips?

Go with an 80 series. I would personaly go for a magnaflow instead. There is a reason alot of people reffer to flowmaster as blowmaster.
