OK, so I've posted a thread somewhat regarding this topic before and yes, I've searched through the pages for an answer(with no luck)...

Anyways, I'm in the market for a CAI and have decided on Dr. Speed. I'm just wondering the difference between a stage 3 and the "cold air box"? Like, any performance differences, more hP, etc... Also, just wondering if the cold air box would make more sence living through our great Canadian weather(snow, rain, etc...)? I understand the stage 3 relocates filter to the lower fenderwall, does this mean I'd have to cut my aftermarket splash guards? Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!

PS-- I've recently come into some extra cash that I'm free to spend and I can think of no other way than on my ride! I've already ordered my SLP cat-back system, and the CAI would be next. I'm also considering the DHP PCM... Any other ideas that can boost performance(mostly looking for hP and torque gains and better acceleration)? I've got about $2000 Canadian that I can spend with no worries...

As always, thanx for any help!

For 200 Canadian, the only thing I can think of is an underdrive pulley from fastfwdperformance. Other than that, maybe get a local shop to P&P the manifolds?

Thanx for the info... I've been looking into an UDP actually... And I didn't think about having the manifolds P&P'd, what exactally will this do to improve performance?... To be clear, it's about two thousand I have to spend, not just two hundred...

Thanx again!

i have dr speed stage 3. as you may of seen my pictures of me driving thru a puddle, i have had no problems with taking on water or anything.

ive heard the cold air box is great, but for like 20 bucks more, or what ever it is, you get the cai... plus it makes some neat noises.

Did you mean 2000 or 200, cause you typed 2000, and the other guy said 200....

For 2000...... If you can do it yourself, Camshaft, P&P, Valve Job, Milling the heads, Roller Rockers, DHP, and you'll be rockin with a 60hp increase...
if sending it out probably P&P, Valve Job, Milling, DHP

for 200 bucks... I dunno.... lighted pully, but i'd be worried down the road baking your Main Bearings, I think with a lighter pully, and not using a dampner, there would be much more internal harmonics...
200 Milzy should have your DHP... that should be good for 15hp..

the 3400 is internally balanced, and the "dampner" on the stock pulley is laughable...there should be no worry swapping a lighter pulley :)

To be perfectly clear.....the amount I have to spend is $2000, two thousand dollars... Not $200, two hundred dollars... I would believe the guy who wrote 200 was mistaken, because it is $2000 that I have to spend if I choose...

Ah doh, my bad, I thought I saw 200.

2 grand can get you a lot of things... turbo kit, heads with LS1 springs, etc. Too much stuff to list. Depends on how far you wanna go with the car.
