Ok to start off My parents came up to see me with my uncle (family friend). We ate lunch and we came back to my apt to rotate my tires.

I was telling him that my front end was shaking bad. He test drove my car. (Hes a mechanic certified in like 8 states and he drove the piss out of it, i mean the car was changing gears at 6000rpms. i was like 0.0! With my rotors he did the whole 0-100-0 test.)

Like i said came back and as we rotated them we checked the brakes in the front and my wheel hub assembly is shot to hell. i need to get two new tires soon. Then we went to the back brakes and there was some hell there. I had no pads on the shoes, the wheel cylinder was leaking. and a whole bunch of crap. So we jetted to autozone and got everything we needed. About 3 hours and alot of ciggs later we finished.

Shopping cart:

Wheel hub assembly
2 new tires
OEM rotors for now (get the RSM later)
a life.

The Good Part.
I waxed my baby yesterday and last night, it was so nice but beige is very hard to shine. but it did. And vaccumed out the whole car. took off the seat covers to wash and going to look for leather seats later on to swap.

Here are the ugly pics first.

I had a 1997 GASE, same color; it was weird how, when looking at the paint, that at one angle it is beige and another angle it looks silver. My Sunfire has this weird blue/purple thing going on with its paint.

I love those rims! If only they came an inch or so bigger.

I had similar crosslace rims on the old 'Retta GT -- they just work on some cars, and luckily for you your car is one of those :D

I'd like to see this with GT trim on it.. I've not yet to see a 4-Door 96-98 Model like this in a GT with THAT paint on it.. same goes for those SE's with the crimson red metallic paint.. Id like to see it on a GT..

Mark, thats because no GTs ever came from the facroty in his color, or the maroonish color. ALso theres that one blue that could comd on SE's and never on a GT. GM did some funny things with paint schemes.
For ex. did you know that there is actually 3 colors for interiors on your yr GAs? the nice charcoal, then tan and there was actually also a teal color. However, the teal ONLY come in white of blck GA's as an option, you couldn't get it with any other exterior color.

Yeah GTs didn't come in every colour... IIRC 96-98 GTs were available in white, black, red, green and purple; the other colours (red metallic, toothpaste green, this beige colour in this thread, the blue colours and any others) were only available on the SE.

Yeah there were two blues available on 96-98 cars, and neither was available on the GT. One was a light greyish kinda periwinkle type blue and the other was the deep bright blue colour (which I liked much better). I would have thought the latter blue would be available in the GT, but as you say GM does some funny things, lol.

Yeah the teal colour sure was strange. I've seen it in pictures but never in real life believe it or not. I'm not even sure it was available in Canada because I would have thought I would have seen it at least once. The first time I saw it in a picture I thought it was either lighting or someone painted it that colour, lol.

The charcoal is actually called graphite, by the book I think; the tan I think is plain ugly except on the colour car in this thread, where it fits well. I never understood the tan colour on cars like green ones. Well maybe the toothpaste green it wouldn't be so bad but on manta green it looks plain bad, IMO. I have a friend who has a dark green Chevy Impala and the interior is tan--I just don't get it, how is that supposed to look good? LOL.

I've seen ont white/teal GT in the junkyard, and one white/teal SE sedan that a friend has around here. The GT was the donor for my body parts:)

Also, I think someone on here did a GT conversion on one of the darker blue ones a year or so ago, its definately a good color.

Thats some good info to know. It would be great this car as a Gt but like i was telling Mark. I would want the same color, and still have that little effect of the color changing in the nightime (beige-day, silver-night) It would be good to do the conversion but its a poor mans world and im number 1.

And that I did tell you as well. Get the GT kit for it. Keep it the same color, drop it 1.5" and stick that sucker on 18's. :D :D :D :D :D :D

no jack stands? tsk tsk...I will never, I repeat, NEVER do work that requires jacking up a car without jack stands. Same goes for work underneith a car.

Nice and clean car by the way! I have the crappy crosslace hupcaps... Ive been trying to find yours or a set of 5 spoke GT wheels.
