I was wondering if anyone out there has installed a new camshaft into their 3100 or 3400...
I got the 3100, and putting a 2003 3400 topend on it... and I wanted to get the Mantapart Camshaft, and wondered if anyone has gotten a new cam, where from, how much, how was the power gain???

lemme know

Yeah I check out Milzy, but they want $410 for their cam.... thats to me a lil crazy... I'm sure for that kinda cash I can call Crane or Comp cams, and get a custom grind...

Mantapart only wants $225 which is a great price, and i'd be more than willing to spend...
GM Performance Parts makes a couple camshafts too, I might call them up and ask if they fit the 3100....

I can't answer your question directly, but why not get a 3400 and cam that? P&P the heads/intake manifolds too. You can do that while your 3100 is still in the car, so less downtime on it.

Yeah I've been porting my heads and Lower Manifold, and I got Titanium Valves, but I still gotta turn them down in a Lathe..

I dont think the 3400 cam fits the 3100 engine, I think it mechanicall fits, but the Gears and sensor stuff might be different..

But I am using the 3400 Top end, I think it flows 26% better, and has fulfrum roller rockers, and Slighty larger valves...

Hoping from a stock 3100 at 150hp, to get it up to 185hp with the cam and 3400 top end... and I might try and put a 1 or 2 inch spacer between the Cylinder head and exhust manifold, and port the manifold a bit... I think that should be good for 5hp too....lol

My friend and I did a 3400 swap on his car and sent the 3400 cam to ERSON CAMS for a regrind and it only cost 75 bucks.

His car is a 1994 GA SE with a

3400 swap
2500 stall converter
ERSON CAM regrind .450 int. .450 exh. 260/268 dur.
upper urethane mount

This car runs strong and he drives it everyday.

Here is the contact information for the cam regrind...
