I tried searching to find an answer to my question, but I just can't find the right one. I am going to be replacing at least my muffler soon. I am looking for the sound of a V8 at idle, and noticeable when I punch it. I would like to add some horsepower to the car, being an SE and all. I know nothing about exhausts, but I'm looking to spend between $200-300 installed. Any suggestions on what I would need (pipes, muffler, etc.) would be awesome! From what I've read, I see the Flowmaster 80 is popular. Thanks guys!

I would say go with a borla or slp but those are both out of your price range. I would say go to a shop and explain what you want and see if they can get that for you. I am no expert but that seems like a good way to go.

SLP is your best choise, it sounds great. I loved it, but it is more like 500.

Hah...this may be dumb...but could I some of it installed now and the rest later? Such as muffler, and maybe one or two other parts? I've always heard good things about Borla. I'll check in to both.

it will cost you more in the long run getting part by part installed. Better off just saving.

That is only on 2 1/4 inch piping too.

i have the flowmaster 80, it sounds like a small v8 at idle, and when you hit it, you hear it... for your price range, i would check into it.

SLP is 2.5" piping, Borla is 2 1/4" ;)
Go with SLP...a nice throaty (but not obnoxious) rumble at idle, and an aggressive tone accelerating. You can pick it up for $450-$500 and it's easy to install yourself. I'm agree that doing it all at one time will be better...it'll be cheaper and you'll get all the fun factor at one time! :)

I don't have a welder. Or is it all bolt-on?
