ok been wondering this for a while and since I'll be running a SC here at somepoint in the very near future. Why can't a traditional FMIC be used on a GM SC? The setup is still the same. You have inlet air coming into the IC then the cooled air from the IC to the inlet/TB of the SC. Now I can see if the routing of the piping might be hard to do but might be possible to route.

The heat generated by a SC (or turbo for that matter) is due to the air heating up when it is compressed. You can't simply throw an IC before the GM SC... it will do no good to attempt to cool the air (using air that is the same temp), then it gets compressed and will heat up anyway.
The IC has to be in between the SC and the engine head. Since the GM SC is integrated into the intake manifold, there is no way to re-route the compressed air through an intercooler.

ahh oh ok I didnt think of that stage of it. Guess Id have to run the one mini coolers that mount inbetween the SC and the intake mani

Exactly... like the water-air IC systems that the GTP guys put under their M90. The GM SC doesn't use separate pieces, so it doesn't have that square mount passage like the most other Eaton units do. If you're planning to use CombatPhil's setup, it will have that square mount cause he's using 'universal' Eaton blowers - you'll just have to look into clearance and belt length issues to run a water IC setup. Alternatively, there's always water/alky injection.

yea, just like the look of a good sized FMIC buuuuut this way the its a nice little suprise for people plus I may run a nitrous setup, small shot, like a 50 shot or so,nothing major, might just use it along with the SC
