Pipe Tips

i have a 97 GT and i dont like the pipe on the car!! its ok for a stock car but i will more like to see some crhome tips!! normal one just crhome you know something that look clean!!!

so can i just cut the tips of the stock pipe and put a chrome tips??? or i have to put a new exhaust systeme???

and if someone cut the pipe to put s chrome one let me see some pics!!!

hey, sorry man... it seems like not as many people come in here since they changed the name from just "General Forum" also, this would be a good one to post in the "Appearance" section. I think that there was a thread a while back with pictures of all types of non-stock exhaust tips. lastly, give us a little more time, sometimes the people you want to hear from don't have a chance to check the posts daily... oh, and :welcome: to the club :thumbup2:

yea, you can cut the tips off and have some new chrome ones welded on, people do it all the time (some just use screws even and don't weld it). just make sure the inlet diameter of the pipe matches your exhaust pipe, otherwise whoever does it will have to fab it a little to make it fit (which wouldn't be hard, but it is much easier to just get the right size).

sorry, don't have any pics myself, my exhaust is stock, but plenty of people here do, if you look around. again, try posting in the "Appearance Mods" section and you should get more replies.

I've seen stock 96-98 GT tips 'chromed' before... they used a dremel to sand and polish the face of the lip (oval) of the tip. Looked very nice.

yeah i dremeled my pipes and they do look like chrome.

I, too, hate the stock pipes, but after polishing them up real good they look great! Quad outlet would still be sexier though :P
