Camping Grounds in

If anyone knows of any local camping grounds in or around Albany, it would be greatly appreciated. I am thinking about camping all the way there and back.

The closest camping grounds I believe is in Lake George, about 45min-1hour away.

There has to be a closer campground. Lake George is a long way away. Try a Google search of the Albany area.

You're right, I forgot about Thompsons Lake. Its 30 minutes outside of Albany AND its close the Thacher Park where we are having the car show.

Thanks For the info, i'm really looking forward to this trip that i'm planning. its going to be a little while before i get to send my money for the entry fee, because i have my first professional bowling tournament next month, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. So if anyone is in the area around July 21st through the 23rd come out and cheer me on.

So is anyone else camping? This is the option for me just because I prefer the atmosphere and its usually a bit cheaper than the hotel at the cost of "roughing" it. I mean a campfire a lil boozing and maybe a mini meet of the camp cars could meet up with the hotel goers? I love camping... I would be in, but I don't think it'll work that well with the meet for me. Lack of showers, too much gear in car, and a car full of leaves comes to mind when I think camping. If I were you, I would split the nights up... camping a night or 2, hotel a night or 2.

Hey thanks for the help, but i cant make it up this year, due to getting a new job just recently, and running kind of short on money but oh well thats life. Hopefully i can make it next year
