I just wanted to get your opinion on which one you think is better.
Currently I have a CAI setup but I"ve been thinking about changing it back to my factory airbox and using a K&N drop-in instead. It's such a pain to clean the air filter on the CAI because it sits behind the splashguard in the wheelwell and I have to remove the whole splashguard to do this. Do you think that I would lose performance if switched back? By the way the factory setup is a cold air setup it's just that the piping is alot smaller.
I don't know what to do what do ya'll think I should do?

thank you for your time, Corey:)

CAI definitely.

The stock system is not a cold air setup at all and nothing like a CAI.
You do not have to remove the whole wheel liner to clean it and you dont need to clean it often anyway. My stock filter got more dirty faster than my CAI.

Keep the CAI

You know how I hate to disagree with you, but you are indeed incorrect.

The factory RamAir is very much like a CAI by pulling cool air from outside of the engine bay. The only reason it is not as effective is due to the smaller diameter tubing and number of bends it makes. Had these tubes has less bends and simular diameter as the common CAI it would infact be more effective.

If manufactures weren't required by the government to pass engine sound restrictions they would be able to develop things like more efficent Ram Air setups for passenger sedans.

So what your saying TA. is if i somehow worked out some nice pipeing for my factory ram air with a slightly different setup it could be just as good as CAI?

If you say yes then im on it ok. I have been avoiding CAI because i like the stock ram air, and its a pontiac thing more less. so if i can get a sweet custom ram air intake fab'd up i might just do it.
