So i just graduated HS and my cousin wants to get me a cold air intake for my GA. I want the stage 3 (naturally cuz im not cheap) and i was just wondering if anyone has used doctorspeed.com to buy one. Are they any good at service and reliability? ALSO is the intake very hard to install?

doctor speed is a good bet and from what I've heard they are very reliable and fast.
Depending on your level of skill with modifying a car, this could range from very easy to medium. For the CAI I bought off of ebay I had to do some minor cutting in the fender to make mine fit (I'm not sure if the same goes for the doctor speed one or not) and you will have to remove the front drivers side tire to work. Otherwise its a very easy intall.

The front section of the wheel well liner needs to be unbolted and those little plastic things pulled out; I just pull at the fender liner after bolt removal and those plastic plugs pop right out.
Expect 1-2 hour install time; this is with the ones made by Keith a couple years back... if you want to make your own I can send pics and stuff; take them to a fab shop and I think they could easily make tubing to those specs, add a few couplers and hose clamps, a KN filter (I might still have the model #). I love the growl it makes!
Also- in the winter you can run it as a WAI to prevent your GrandAm from eating snow.

I doenst snow in southeast texas. :D thanks for the feedback. Im gonna go ahead and get that CAI from doctorspeed. says not cutting or modifyng needed. which is always a plus. Also says it improves fuel economy. i doubt it though. Again thanks guys

Just to let you know a lot of people have had bad experiences with doctor speed trying to order things through them. I for one ordered the stage 3 in april. it never got sent. Now im being told i requested a refund and there is no order on file. Its now June and their intakes are out of stock, just be warned it might take quite a while to get it, if you even get it.

I had trouble as well...I had to call the credit card company, and they got after him. The product is great though, so I'd recommend it, just be warned. :)

Can you name some other places to get good quality CAI's from?

You can try and check the sticky on the Powertrain Performance Modifications forum (Cold Air Intake FAQs). The sticky has some great alternatives other than the Doc!
