So you know how those ribbings are just glued onto the bottom of the doors and side of the of car? Well the piece that's on the driver's door is coming off. The dealer I bought the car at did a real shitty job fixing it; they just glued it half-assed and now every time it rains or I wash the car I can see it loosen a little bit more.

What's underneath that? Would I be able to take them all off and leave them off or would it look better to fix that piece and leave them on?

And if so, should I do it myself and what should I use or is it worth it to take it to a body shop to do it professionally?

A friend told me I could just rip it off myself and glue it, but knowing my luck, I'll probably snap it or something.

Yes you can remove it, but for uniform appearance you should remove all of the ribbing.

There are a number of threads on this subject, IIRC in the Appearance section. They also describe methods on to remove the ribbing.

To see what is under the ribbing just take a look at an 03 or later GA SE. Also for the body shop to do it is not a big deal. All they have to do is put new double sided tape on the pannel and stick it back on. When I had to have one of mine replaced that is all they did and it holds up just like it was when it was put on at the factory.

As far as taking them all off I personally like the ribbing. I was never a big fan of the they way it looks with out. But it's your car and your choice. Just remember the bumpers wont match if you take the ribbing off the sides. So do what you want because like i said its your choice!
