So I searched the forums and the only before and after picture I found on removing ribs was on a 2003 and I beleive (I could be wrong) they are different so my question is do I remove the section circled in the picture below? it is one piece that goes from fender to fender.
Thanks in advance for any help.

It goes from the front, along the bottom, all the way to the back...it's called a rocker panel.
I believe there's a mounting hole behind were you circled that'll have to be filled if you take it off. :)

Thanks!
Does anyone have pics of what the car look like without the rocker panel?

You'd definately want to get the rocker panels off of an SE. I remember when I took my GT sideskirts off to put the SC/T ones on, it was sort of bare and there were a bunch of holes. Also a hint in taking them off, if you use needlenose pliers you can pinch the white clips near the hole and they'll come out easily.

I took mine off at one point, not hard at all, a screw or 2 where the rocker panel meets the front fender and the rest are all clips (just like about everything else that this car is held up by i.e. - front and rear bumpers, etc.). Very easy to do though.
