I've been looking for some tips that look like, or that are GXP tips. I found these on Ebay for $110 shipped. I'll have to cut them back a bit and have them welded on, but I can do that at work no problem. Right now I have the SLP tips and I really don't like them...these on the other hand are pure hotness! :D

Damn, those look great............ I have the SLP system with 2.5" pipe so these will have to be modified to fit. I don't think the length will be a problem though. They won't fit the stock system...it's a totally different setup.

Nice... can't go wrong sticking with "dual-duals". I agree on the SLP tips... they are nice, but since the edge is so thin (not rolled like stock), you can hardly see them from the rear.

Wow those tips look amazing.

Exactly Matt, that was my biggest problem with them...I have a "loud" exhaust and nothing to show for it! Now people think I have a hole in my muffler unless they notice the tips.
Thanks guys, I've always loved these tips since the first time I saw them....true love at first site. :D

Nice tips!
On my SLP, I used adaptors and clamps instead of welding. When winter comes, I swap tips and keep the good ones out of the salt bath.

They are 2 3/8ths ID.
Get a piece of 2.25 pipe with a sixteenth inch wall as a spacer. You can use copper pipe. It's easy to cut, it doesn't rust and the new tips cover it.
My winter tips are adapted down from 2.5 to 2.25 with no problems.

I kind of wish they were in another 1/2" but that would've required a whole lot of cutting and reworking of the pipeing and tips themself...possibly damaging them...but I still like them :D

how about a above photo looking down from above the bumper . and a lower side / rear shot to viwe how much they stick out / hang down.........so they are definitly stainless steel to start so a good magnet won ' t stick to them ?? just want to make sure i do not get pretty chrome only to turn bad later. . which were chromed .
never understand why they chrome s/s when you can polish s/s to get equal shine like chrome.
Bjornboy81

I'll try to get a better shot for you Troy.
As far as "good stainless steel" being non-magnetic...it depends on what it's comprised of that determines if it's magnetic or not...but it doesn't determine weather it's a better grade or not. :)
Dave C
06-20-2006, 06:03 PM
Sorry to break it to you Paul, but there is a difference in grade between the magnetic and non-magnetic... I can't remember why (or which is better) right now, but I can go look it up in my notes if you'd like. I just remember my professor (with a PhD in Material Science) talking about which steak knives were better. ALL stainless steel has Chromium in it (again, as far as I remember), some just have more than others. Again, if you want me to go look this stuff up for more info, just say so.

I've read a couple things about it and yes better grades tend to be less responsive to magnetism (if at all), but it isn't a sure tale way of determining the grade...that's from what I've read about it anyways...but the all knowing Dave C I'm sure will set me staight  :D

I'll get right on it tomorrow night or Friday, I have to study for my Heat Transfer exam that is tomorrow at 4... If I forget, slap me across the head or something. :)
