Hardwire Ipod to factory stereo

Is there any way to hard wire an ipod to a stock radio so I can just plug it in and go? We've tried FM transmitters but theres 50% music and 50% static.. was wondering if its possible to hard wire like an RCA or something with a line converter.. let me know if it can be done.

Yeah look at pfyc.com theres something called the pac iPod connection which will convert ur stock wiring to RCA plugs. Go check it out, although it is about 190 bux... Maybe ebay it??

Depending on which generation iPod you have....if its the 4th generation like mine...the iTrip worked best with my facotry stereo and with my aftermarket HU....The 5th generations have one too that works...have you tried the iTrips? The cheap one sby Belkin really suck.

The USA Spec IPOD Interface (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-NY6D4CyhPtz/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=227450&I=581PA11G45) SHOULD work for you. I couldn't find any information on people installing it on anything older than a 2000 GT, but Crutchfield says it should work for pretty much any '94-'02 GM and a simple call or email to them would clear that up, plus I'm sure they'd take it back if it didn't work.

my gf had a thing made by belkins that just plugged into her cigarette lighter and held the ipod and played it

Harmon Karden has a really nice thing called the drive n play. You can't controll the ipod through the headunit, but it gives you the ability to stash the ipod out of ite in the car and used their controls to navigate the Ipod. I'm not sure if it charges the Ipod, but I'm guessing it might. I've only ever installed 1 of them so far and its a fairly easy install.
