I'm looking to purchase a GPS system for my 05 Grand Am any suggestions on which system to get?

In dash GPS or something like a tomtom? For indash I say look into Eclipse or Pioneer

there is another alternative, i just have to get off of my lazy ass and finish it.

its a custom laptop mount that hides away in the glovebox, if you already own a laptop this would be the cheapest setup, because you can then get a gps module for no more than $250 with maps included and hook it all up. also leaves room for more expansion in the future.

Just gget a gps reciver for a laptop and download the maps from torrents or somethings...

I went with the Garmin StreetPilot c330 and it's great! I had it installed and in use within 5 minutes of opening the box. The directions are great, no downloads, fees, or subscriptions.

If anyone else is looking for a portable GPS I highley recommend the Garmin StreetPilot.
