I HAVE DECIDED ON BUYING SOME NEW RIMS FOR MY PONTIAC GRAND AM 2000 SE...................SOME INTERNET SITES LIST THE LARGEST RIMS THAT POSSIBLY FIT ON A GRAND AM 2000 ARE ONLY 19'S.............BUT THEN SOME OTHER SITES SAY THAT 20'S WILL FIT...................................SO MY QUESTION WILL 20'S FIT ON MY GRAND AM WITH NO MIDIFICATIONS DONE.................

I've checked into it recently and, afaik, 20's will not fit onto the 2000 Grand Am without modding your wheelwells. I'm 99% sure that 19's will, though.
Also, check your Caps Lock ;)

I'd do 18's...
Look good, fill the wheel well gap, and you actually have some tire cushion :)

now you should probably check your period button ............. just jokin with ya.
people have fit 20"s on Grand Am's before. some guy even put 20" with an extension plate thing bolted on in front of the tire to make them look like 23"s. personally, I like 17" or 18" best. you also would have to be REALLY careful with the 20" rims to not bend/scrape them (as you would with 18"s, but much more so).
oh yes, and the more tire = better ride quality + more protection for the rim

I've got 18's and I have problems with bending rims on pot holes. I've already replaced one and I already have 2 more to replace now. The biggest problem with pot holes is when it rains U can't see and avoid them cause they fill up with water and are invisible. Just be careful cause rim's are F@#king expensive!

It is possible without modification to the wheel well. I've seen a GA with 23" rims that didn't have any other modifications to it, though it looked like absolute crap!
I've got 17's and don't really have any problems with them. They don't rub, and the ride isn't too bad. I'll probably get 18's when I get a new set.

if I am thinking of the right car, those weren't exactly 23" rims, they were 20" rims with a lip bolted on to give them an exta 1.5" around the edge.

If you think your puny stock brakes are going to hold up to stopping 20" of spinning ugliness, you're wrong. People who run heavy-weight wheels on stock brakes are :stupid:.

from what i hear you need ot roll the lip of the fenders to make them fit. the ride quality will suck. if you want to be different then get 19s. most of us get 18s and are very happy. when you lower the car it looks totally wicked with 18s.
