Hey guys... In the middle of my '95 3100 to '99 3100 swap. I'm disconnecting the tranny from the motor, but there is one bolt that I cannot find. It's on the fire wall side. On the motor, I can find where the bolt would normally go coming from the transmission, but when you look on the other side, all that is there is transmission! I'm guessing they didn't put a bolt in this hole, at least I hope not. Does that make any sense? Let me know if you know anything about this.

Im not sure but you can contact Korbendallas68 or 95-GT on GMPT cuz they have both done the swap and would know more. This might be useful too http://mywebpages.comcast.net/lisiecki/3400swap/
Good luck with everything and keep us updated :)

No problemo, it wont be until July once I get everything pieced together and actually have a job, or 2, or 3 :)

back to the tranny subject, do you have to drain the tranny fluid before taking it off of the engine?

No, you don't have to drain any fluid from the tranny... Actually, you won't ever come across tranny fluid. The only part ever exposed of the transmission is the torque converter.

3100 to 3100? :-\ lol I love the 3400 but I am having some electrical probs right now....damn wires got melted on the headers. But I am pulling in low 15's, high 14's COMPLETLY STOCK. If course I have polyurthane mounts and tranny work. I think with the upgraded fuel system, custom exhaust and pcm reprogram, and turbo that I will be running low 13's, and possibly high 12's.
Also, how did you like that bolt on the back side? Aint it a *****? Have fun putting it back in! lol
