I'm wondering what kind of engine modifications you guys would recommend I do to get the most performance out of my engine, short of forced induction.
A lightweight pulley, CAI, intake manifold, and throttlebody come to mind. What else would you recommend?

exhaust...doesn't matter how much air you get in if you can't get it out.
check out www.mantapart.com, they have a bunch of performance stuff. There's other websites too, but I'm sure the 2.4L guys could help you more. :)
Welcome to the club BTW

Thanks Bjorn, Manata seems to have quite the selection. And to clarify, I'm not as much of a gearhead, as I'm more of a gearhead in training. I'm not sure WHAT would need to be upgraded that would make the most difference, so to speak.

Start with exhaust, then intake. There are many threads with suggestions on that, plus other mods for the 2.4.

One thing I'm curious about is the throttle body. I'm assuming a bigger one is better, and I see that Manta has a 53mm, I've seen a 57mm on the forums here, and I've seen RSM has a 63mm TB.
What would be my best option? I seen I could snag the 57mm for 90 bucks vs 400 minus core charge for the RSM 63mm, and 300 for the 52mm from Manta.
Also, with the pulley, does anyone have any experience with the different brands? I know there are quite a few different ones, and wondered if the Unothadox one was much better than the AEM's or vise versa, ect.
As with the exhaust, I planned on trying to have that done first anyways, as I've got an exhaust leak I'm not fond of.
I guess my last question would be, is the Induction Dynamics CAI worth the money? Seems like it's a helluva lot, but it looks pretty solid. Don't really see many alternatives other than them for one though, other than using spectre brands and mocking one up myself.

Do exhaust and intake upstream before worrying about TB.
Personally... I think both RSM and Manta are ripoffs. I would suggest the 2.3 HO intake manifold and 2.3 TB (which is bigger than the stock 2.4 TB) swap. From a junkyard, both shouldn't cost over $50.

Indeed. I plan on getting a 6" round muffler on right after my cat, and running 2.5" piping back and out like my current duel exits. I'm just trying to get my ducks in a row so to speak. What do you recommend as far as air intake?

Choices are limited there. Induction dynamics CAI will fit. Otherwise gotta make it yourself. If you go the WAI route... try to find one that eliminates that "box" the TB attaches to.

I'm wondering if one of those short WAI's with an open cone, coupled with that flexible tubing routed to the fender wall would do much good. I'm not wanting to plop $250+ on a CAI from Induction Dynamics.

I'm not a fan of flexible tubing... if that's the case, just get a WAI and leave it be.

Would a CAI for a Cavalier work??

I wouldn't count on a perfect fit without modifying it.. the fender area and around battery differ slightly. WAI for J-body's should fit fine tho.
