alright, i need some help. the other day, as i was turning into my neighborhood, my system was working just fine, then all of a sudden, all i was getting was a bass/pop noise coming out of all speakers and my sub. i immediately turned everything off, and just drove home no system. when i got home, i checked all my connections as i thought on the turn maybe something came loose and got crossed up or something, no dice. all connections are fine and tight. i then turned on my system, and saw that my 4 channel amp pushing my speakers was in protection and was trying to turn on, and every time it tried to, i would get that pop noise. as soon as it made the pop noise it would turn off and start over again. my sub was also doing the same it seemed, yet the sub amp looked to be working normally. i havent checked my fuses yet which im going to do tomorrow, and im going to try regrounding it tomorrow. i just wanna know what else it could be so if its not fuses or the ground i may have something else to try. the fact that its everything and not just the speakers or sub, has me worried it could be something big :(

btw...

I have an alpine MRP350 amp hooked to a 12" Alpine Type S and my 4 channel is an Audiobahn A4004T hooked to pioneer 6x9's and 4x6's. my headunit is a panasonic CQ-8100U. im also running a 4 gauge to a distro block and 8 gauge from there to the amps. any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

is your sub amp connected to your speaker amp's preamp outputs?

Disconnect your speaker wires from the amp and see if it turns on normally, you might have a pinched speaker wire that finally wore through and is shorting the output.

If the amp is trying to turn on it's not the fuse...fuses either work or don't.

thanks man, you got it on the first try, pinched wire under the seat, cut out the pinched part, works like a charm...thanks again
