Hey guys and galls.
I have a hunch brought on by my friend who owns a car audio company.
This hunch being that if after running subs in an enclosed trunk for a while that it is bad to open the trunk with the subs running as it stuffs the subs.
Reasons that i could see behind this would be that the subs would be broken in at a certain boot volume and would be used to operating at that volume with that amount of pressure change as the subs go in and out. So opening them up to the outside air, it would be easier for them to move and they would get out of synch with what they'd usually move at causing the coils or something to become loose and eventually blow the subs.
I would really appreciate any input that anyone has on this topic and whether or not running subs with the boot open does stuff them up.
Just for the record, they are two SOUNDSTREAM EXACT 12inch subs in a ported box being run off a 1500D Picasso SOUNDSTREAM AMP.
