Water Pump

I was wondering how hard it is to change a water
pump on a 99 grand Am GT with the 3.4? I was told
all I had to do was take the Serpentine Belt off, then
take the pulley for the water pump off and the pump
just comes out. Is this true, if not what else is involved?

i know with the 2.4 its a 6 hr job by a gm mechanic

You got it. It's not that difficult, it just takes a little time. If you need to replace your belt this is a good time to do it. I did mine a few months ago, the only problem I had was getting the pull off. Loosen the bolts while the belt is still on, it'll save you a little trouble.
