As from the profile to the left, I have a 99 GA SE, so far this is what I have in it.

Deck (soon to be installed) > Pioneer DEH4800MP
Front > Kicker 05DS46
Rear > Infinity Reference 9602i (Old model I know, but I took them out of my Cavalier).

I really have fallen in love with the steering wheel controls and I got the DEH4800 because of the wired remote connection. I was planning on using PACs adapter for it, The SWI-PS. I know crutchfield gives instructions and support and this is not my first audio system swap (I've done about 4 complete cars), but I wanted to get input from an owner of the adapter and see if it actually worked.

Second, I'm asuming that after I swap the head unit out, I could remove the old factor amp for the 6x9s right?

SWI-X works great. I wrote the installation instructions for 2001+ here, http://www.pfyc.com/supportfiles/gapacinstall.doc , Ido'nt have the 99 GA w/ premium sound pinouts but I am sure they are posted here somewhere. hope that helps

Thanks for the link to the guide. Mine will be a little easier since I order the SWI-PS and have a Pioneer deck with the wired remote input, so no IR lead. I was a little skepitcal of the stated, most application only need 3 wires, but it looks to be true.

I order it from crutchfield, so hopefullly it is like all of their parts and comes with instructions by them, but if not I will deffinetly be refering to my manuals and your guide.

Pioneer 4800MP and PAC SWI-PS came in today. I thought this was goign to be hard (will hold on and think of some difficulty/problems until I get it installed). 3 Wires, woohoo. Ground and 12 Volt off the key splice into the harness for the radio (easy to do since it needs to be installed) and then a control to the radio plug. I thank you for the link to the review iceman, but to be honest, I was expecting this to apear to be more of a challenge to do. I will post again after wensday when I get it installed (first day off all week) or saturday if I can't get it in on wed.

Haven't gotten it all in yet, but I don't know why but I was thinking it was going be multiple wires (12+ and resistors)

Installed and working great. It
s not a cheap part, but I highly recomend it if you use the steering wheel audio functions of your GA (or any of the other models PAC supports.)

3 Wires and it plugs into the wired remote 3.5mm jack in the back of the head unit (Pionner, Sony, Apline, Eclispe only)
