Idle problem.

Well I was wondering if someone here could help me. In my Fiero when I sit and idle it the Tach will go from 1K to 5o0RPMS and them back up. Someone told me to clean the ERG valve and I haven't had time. Well someone also told me that it isn't the erg valve. Does anyone have any ideas for me to try? Thanks.

Mine does and always has done the same thing. Cleaning the iac and the egr helps, and checking and replaing the vacume hoses helps too.

Well I am going to have to check those..Where is the IAC on the 2.5. I think you told me once but I cannot remember.

its on the back of the throttle bodie, its held on by two torx bolts. its a round cylinder.

yep...mine's done it from day one. I cleaned the IAC but haven't gotten to the EGR yet. Other than that, I guess it's just somethin that ya got to live with
