Well finally got around to resizing the pictures, this happened on the 9th.

There was a dump truck stopped waiting to make a left, a GMC Sierra pick up behind him, and them my dad behind the GMC in the F-150. A little blue ion with 3 girls in it came up doing 50-55 and never slowed down, they ran right underneath our truck. Put our truck into the air and my dad came down nose first into the Sierra.

Amazingly everybody was okay. The girl driving the ion was 16 and had her liscense less than a year. And happened to be our neighbors across the street.

I got there after they had taken the girls away in the ambulance, and took the ion away. My dad said there was no front end left on the ion.

Well dealing with the insurance company was a bitch. They wouldn't accept liabily for the first few days, and thus we couldn't get a rental car covered by them. Then we could have had the truck fixed, but it would have been a full used frame, used bed cause that style is discontinued, and basically would've been a frankinstein of a truck. My dad didn't want it back like that so we just had it totalled.

Well then they accept liability and total it and everything, give us a rental, and then tell us we can only have the rental for a week cause they cut us the check for the new truck. And they claimed they knew my dad had access to a work vehicle. Well then we explained to them his work vehicle is the 26,000 lb ComEd line truck he drives home when hes on call. But still we only get a week to find a new truck in our price range that my dad wants.

Our truck was loaded minus the leather : ( which my dad didn't want anyway. It was pristine, not a scratch on it. And now because some twit smashed into him we have to shell out more money for a new one cause they cut the check for what the old one was worth at the time.

So when all is said and done there was a totalled ion, a totalled F-150 and a Sierra with $12,000 worth of damage on it.

So only upside is now we have a 2006 F-150 FX4, its a hella sweet truck.

To top it off...the girls parents went out and bought her another nice ion. I know if I totalled the GA and it was my fault, my parents sure as hell wouldn't buy me another car.

And also this sucks cause my mom or I was going to be getting a new 'stang this year :(

Well after all my rambling heres the damages. Doesn't look too bad until you see the frame. It was twisted and bent in a lot more places that we couldn't get good pics of also.

Also forgot to mention we had the nice rhino liner, and bed cover, and me and my mom just bought my dad a remote start for his b-day in march.

saturns are probably some of the toughest vehicles on the market. they're like miniature sherman tanks, so the damage to the truck doesn't really surprise me.

glad everyone's ok though, can't wait to see the new truck pics.

Personally, I think you should take a sledge hammer the the new Ion. What parent in their right mind would buy a 16 year old a brand new car after they totalled the first one and was proven to be their fault. Those are the types of parents I hate. Make them pay for their own new car, and that would teach them a leason. I bet their parents also pay their insurance.

Damn looks like it was a nice truck too.

Good reason why trucks should have boxed frames.

wow glad to see your dad was ok.. sucks about the whole thing, hopefully you or your mother can get a new car sooner than later, and I agree, my parents would've had me earn another car after a big wreck like that..
was the girl driving wrecklessly or what exactly was she doing?

Hey accedents happen. Good thing everyone is ok, and things worked out.

Hope you guys like the knew truck, they are nice (althougth i still think i like the older bodystyle better) Did you get the sirus radio or anything like that?

But replacing the frame is no big deal. This one tech at the Ford dealer i work at does them in about 2 days (but it pays like 40 hours so he cleans up big time). Ive seen him do 2 Rangers, 1 F150, and 1 Explorer.

She was doin about 50-55 and just wasn't paying attention. All the girls statements on the report read "I just looked up and then I hit the truck".

And sorry its taken me so long, I was in Canada fishing for a week :)

I'll hopefully get the pics of the new one up soon.

But we drove it to Canada and back. And damn does it ride nice and pull hard.

I can fix that frame. All I need in the truck, 20 minutes, a chain and a Tele Pole.

Oh and some bayer for my neck. lol
