2.4L spudders when kick it down

Hey guys, I have a 2001 GA SE 2.4 L twin cam auto. My problem seems to be happening only when i am going at least 60 kmh. If im cruising around 100 say, Ill step it down to go up a hill or pass and the engine will "spudder" as if it is misfiring. Ive checked around this forum and cant seem to find the problem Im having. I replaced the fuel filter as I thought it was that but to no effect. I just put a WAI on so its not the air. Im guessing its to do with coils or something but not sure. Anyways its really annoying whenever I am going up a hill or try and leave it on cruise it jerks and spudders then all of a sudden after about 4 or 5 "misfires" it kicks in and revs up and goes. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

is the SES light on? if so have you had the codes read?

If the light is on, take it to autozone or checkers, wherever, and have the codes read:)

no light is on and yah I am going to take it in one of these days but I would like to know if it in fact the coils.. just to see what kind of repairs im looking at. Hopefully nothing serious. Its a pain in the butt more than anything. (the problem)

. coils would make the ses light come on.

Are you certain that the SES light bulb works? I mean blown bulb etc? Most things that could possibly be wrong would throw out a code and turn on the light, certainly anything ignition-related would do so.

How old are the spark plugs? What kind are they?

Stock plugs, 50000 kms on the car
