Im building a box soon and wanted to know which one you guys think would work the best for my sub. IF you choose "Neither" please show me what you think would work the best.

Sub parameters:

Displacement-------0.5L ft3
SPL-------------------86.8 dB
Z(ohm)(series)-----8
Re(ohm)(series)---6.6
Qms------------------5.1
Qes------------------0.67
Qts ------------------0.59
Fs (Hz)--------------33
Vas (L)--------------56.9
Cms (mm/N)-------0.165
MMs (g)-------------140
Sd(M2)--------------0.049
BL (T*M)------------16.9
Xmax(mm)----------8
Pwr(W)Nom/Max--250/500

None of those parameters tell us what type and size of box the sub needs....what type of sub is it???

^You can design a box around those parameters if you have WinISD!

All the boxes have the same cubic ft and tuning, but i would try to stay away from a perfect square due to cancellation purposes so i picked box 2

How do you design around the properties of the sub...don't you need the manufactures specs?

those are manufactures specs.

The boxes are all the same...just pick whatever fits your trunk best.

Where did you get those T/S parameters from???

I dont see how that sub could consume 1/2 cube of space. Or is it 0.5 litres???

You really gonna want to make sure you have it right! The program asks for displacement in cu.ft. If you dont have it right it will screw up the tuning...especially with that big of an error.

Yeah, it means .5 liters. The ft.3 probably got put there by mistake.

As for WinISD, the program takes those specs and uses math to figure out the frequency response of the different types of boxes with that sub. It also does a lot of other stuff and graphs it, its pretty cool and the best part, FREE!!!!! http://www.linearteam.dk/
