I have a friend whos 99 Cavalier has no low beams, all other lights work. Any ideas to what the problem is. Our guess is that it is the dimmer/trun signal switch. If so what would be involved in changing that. do you have to remove the wheel or just the plastic around it. I have not looked at it yet, so I don't know what it looks like. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Probably a stupid question.. but.. have you tried changing the bulbs?

Yes he has changed the bulbs, and they are still not working. And it would'nt really make sense that both low beams would blow at the same time. And he has checked all fuses.

Wouldn't hurt to take the connector off the lamp and check to see if you have voltage present...easy to do.

We are going to try replacing the dimmer/turn signal switch and see what that does. Also after some searching on the net we found some people with the same problem and there was a bad wire behind the driver's side headlight in the wiring harness. Some people said it was the low beam grounding wire. But other people said it was the dimmer switch, we'll see.
