as most of you know im obsessed with black... and i want a black interior... so after talking to mac00GT, decided to get a start on it... so far i have managed to do the sun visors, floor mats, and the rear deck.... so far i have used 2 cans....

i have yet to do the actual floor carpet and headliner.... but i need a couple days where i can take the seats out to do that... so for the mean time... here are some progress pictures...

Looking good, how does it feel? Is it sticky at all?

I'm currently working on a full custom interior for a friend's project vehicle. I was thinking of dying the bucket seats he has or going to a salvageyard to locate something that matches better.

its not sticky.... but its not as soft as it was... its just a lil more stiff.... but not hard at the same time...

i just need to take the seats out and mask off everything else and get the carpet done... and then get the headliner done as well.

does that stuff wear off at all? I painted my ex's fieros interior black with the paint for vynal and fabric. Its the stuff at autozone. Anyways it wore off some before we sold the car. Maybe I did something wrong? Looks great so far btw. I can't wait to see it all finished

ok
(for the ones that are going to say stuff about the wires out of my door they are for my gauges.... i wasnt about to fish all those thru the steering column gromet!)

ok now for the carpet and headliner.... one or 2 of the shots make it look like its a darker gray... its not, its black! of all things the headliner was def the hardest to do and make it look nice..... all the masking and the fumes/overspray floating around inside the car sucked major wind to say the least. other then that i LOVE the new look it gives!

the only problem i now have is the tan or beige colored pillars that dont really go with much anymore.... im open to ideas on that.

I'd say do the pillars a nice graphite(sp?) color.

Brandon

thats what i was thinking... although the black on the plastic looks totally different then the carpet it surrounds....

I did the back plastic trim around the rear winder, but i didnt have the tool to take the seatbelt off, so it looks a lil iffy..... its going to be done here soon again and ill get a pic of it when its presentable.

Looking good....

But you did mention the wires so I must ask...
You have three aftermarket gauges and like 10 wires there, whats that about?

Brandon
07-08-2006, 10:00 AM
2 are for the gauges (oil pressure sending unit, tranny temp), the rest were ran for my stupid mirror with the compass/thermometer.... neither of which work right now which has 4 wires to it and i think one wire is for nothing.... *i know it looks bad*:(

That is the first interior recoloring I've seen on this site that I actually like. It looks sharp from the pictures!

Brandon

foxy, if your referring to what i think you are with other interior paint jobs.... thats just not me...... ive got black car, black tint, black headlights..... thats how i like it!

I used the old trunk badging I took off a long time ago for the stencile (sp). I do beleive they are about equal on both sides (passanger and drivers side).... im please how it turned out! (i finally got the right tools, and figured out how to take off the peices and put them back on without bending them and causing the paint/dye to fall off.

Wow! I like how that GT on the rear window pillar looks! You should think about putting one on your passenger airbag. That would look pretty cool, too! :)

Then we could do it to mine :P

we can do it any time you want :) lol
