well i am looking into getting a new car here in the near future and I am having a heck of a time trying to decide what i want. I know that i want a car with a little bit of get up and go. I really don't want to settle for some sissy little 4 banger anymore. My price range is 10,000 - 12,000. I know that i am not going to find any '05's or '06's around that price so I am going to have to settle for a something a little older. I have been trying to find a acura rsx or a subura wrx. I like the style of the rsx, but the wrx would be great for the weather that i would be traveling in. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT!!!

You guys have any ideas what i should look into? Maybe u could shoot me a link if you know of any vehicles! Thanks!

I think you might have a hard time finding even an 02 WRX (first year they were made in the states) for $12k. I'd suggest trying to get a bit more money together and, if you want a WRX, aim for an '03 or newer. The 02's with 5MTs have thinner, weaker gears and when people unused to driving stickshift in an AWD car drive them, tend to blow up first and second. 03's have wider gears that can take a bit more abuse (though they are still somewhat fragile).

If you can get a 99-01 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS, those are also quite fun cars - fairly lightweight, but with a 165hp N/A engine. But it's very, very possible to swap in WRX/STi engines into them, and then you have a beast of a fun car - lightweight with a lot of power and AWD.

Keep an eye on the NASIOC Car for sale classifieds (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=89) if you still want a WRX..
