Custom HVAC knobs

Hi everyone. I've been browsing this forum for a while now and finally joined. :)

Anyway, let's get to my question...

I've been looking all over the internet for some HVAC custom knobs for my 2005 Grand AM. I've searched everywhere I can think of...ebay, google, alot of car sites, this forum. The closest thing I found were knobs that people cleared them selves by striping the vinyl off of them. So, does anyone know where I can get custom knobs for my car? They don't need to be made specific for Grand AM...just as long as they fit. Maybe they don't make them...but these days I just assumed they made everything custom...so there must be some kind of universal custom knobs out there somewhere. :lol:

Yeah thats about it, your not gonna find much in the way of hvac knobs, might just have to mod your own. I painted mine.

thanks guys, I had never came across that site before. The knobs they have there are nice...but by looking at the pictures they just don't seem to suit the interior of a Grand AM. What do you guys think?

I prefer cleard HVAC knobs over the metal ones. They light up the interior of your car at night and they just look better. The chrome ones would fit well in a GA with chrome accents.

I also found a set of 3 pre-cleared knobs with translucent red paint for only $9 on Ebay...but it says it's for a cavalier or sunfire. Does anyone know if they would fit in a Grand AM?

u can use ur knobs and make them clear its not hard.

I know, but I'd rather just buy some...just in case I screw up or don't like them. ;)

i'm 99.9% sure the cavi/sunfire ones won't work without modification.

maybe I'll just buy the factory Grand AM knobs from ebay and try to modify them. That way, if I screw up I always have another set. :)

We can make the GA knob if you want a set... we just did not came up with them yet but let me know if you're interested. They would look just like the J-body ones but would fit your GA perfectly ;)

exactly, we would get a GA to test-fit the knobs perfectly ;)

Those knobs are nice...but I personally don't find they suit the rest of the interior of the Grand AM. I find the chrome just stands out too much. I think it would look better in something black or red.

If I get time I can pull the knobs from both my S10 and my GA and see if they swap, if they do there are a ton of knobs avalible for the S10s.Originally posted by everlost

iirc buick regal knobs fit our ga's, someone correct me if i'm wrong. i remember reading on gagt that someone did this mod. they are black when cleared and white-ish when lit up. there could very well be a thread here on them, id have to search tho and that requires energy, of which i have none.

any one have pictures of the cleared knobs, im curious of that they look like
