Hey Guys
I haven't been on here in a while. I hope everyone is doing good. I am having trouble with something. Right now I have a opportunity to buy a Grand Prix GTP. That rights a GTP. My payments would be around 283. But if I get gap and a powertrain warranty then they would go up to 300. The car is in great shape and all. Power everything, sunroof, the display on the windshield, XM radio, and ON star. I love the car. The only thing is, is that it has 63,000 miles. I am gussing highway, and the car would be financed for 6 years. I will have my car paid off in 3 years and it has 31,000. It is a 2004 Chevy cavalier. 6 years is a long time to pay for a car, but they build them to last 200,000 miles or more. Please help me out.

Thanks
Clint

Well if you like buying Premium gas then youll love it. I like Grand Prixs, especially the 04+ ones. But just a warning, Premium gas sucks ass the buy. I have to use it in my Turbo GP and it costs over 60$ to fill

unless your paying over $3.40 a gallon, you're full of shit.

I payed $2.85 a gallon yesturday for 93 so i highly doubt gas is $3.40 anywhere, in the US.

I believe gas is $4.32 a gallon here. And that's regular gas.
I could be wrong though. $108.9 a liter ..for sure. And that's pretty low for my area.

Premium is usually 20 cents more a gallon than regular.. even if your tank is empty, it's only like 3 bucks more a tank to fill it up, and if you can't afford that, why are you buying a car?

6 years is a loooong time to finance a car, though.

Yea I didn't get it. I thought I would keep what I have for the time being. Pay off the cavalier and get me my dream car. Which is the 98-02 Pontiac Trans Am.

Well I pay 3.25 for regular here. Not positive on the price for 93 octane but if regular is 3.25 that would put 93 over 3.45 a gallon

all i can tell you is that i do finance for a living, and the gap insurance is a must for you on a 72 month loan. won't take you long before you owe more than the car is worth and god forbid you crash you will be happy you bought it.

Oh yeah..

Just because you live in a place where gas is cheap doesn't mean that it's cheap everywhere. It easily crests $3.40 a gallon for premium in Los Angeles (http://www.fuelgaugereport.com/CAmetro.asp), for instance. If you look up where ProSpeeder lives (http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q=Omak,+WA) (IE, BFE), I can easily see $3.40 a gallon, especially considering the high prices in the nearest large metro area (http://www.fuelgaugereport.com/WAmetro.asp), where prices tend to be cheaper.

I say go for it. Obviously the Cav isn't doing it or you wouldn't even be thinking of it. A TA and a GTP are both sporty and I think you'll enjoy the heck out of it. Also the GTP is rare, TA's are everywhere, the GTP is one of a kind.

Jump on it and don't look back. Pay what you can extra every month and make it a 4-5 year loan if the time or interest rate is bothering you.

wait wait, when were 97+ GTPs rare? There far from that. Older 91-93 Ones are fairly rare now because most get junked, same with 94-96 ones, they arnt common but far from rare. but 97+ ones are dime a dozen

Well I am still looking around. I have found a few of the GTP's in the paper and some of the other dealerships in town are asking a little bit less than the one I was looking at. I am going to keep my eyes open for a deal.

115.3 per litre of our crappy regular gas up here in Moncton....

1 US gallon = 3.7854118 litres

that means $4.36 a gallon here CAD

and since 1 Canadian dollar = 0.885034 U.S. dollars

that means 3.86 US per gallon here in Moncton....
oh yea, thats only 89 octane too

ummmmm, back on topic, the newer 1998 era GTP's is one of my most fave cars.... cant beat a big comfy car with BOOOOOOST :)

Good call on the GTP. Although, if you want a real challenge, pick up a '91-'96 model. There's a car that makes you earn your ownership...
