I added the fuel system cleaner 2day. I have half a tank left and im just waiting for it to kick in. Does it really work? Am I going to feel a difference? The only reason I did it, is because I have 105,000 miles on it. And I have horrible acceleration. My mpgs are terrible. I just want the problems to be gone. All I need now, is my coolant flush. The cleaner I added was lucas injector cleaner.

Fuel injector cleaners you add to your tank aren't a bad thing; in fact they are arguably a good preventative measure for bad injector build-ups and deposits. It's not a bad idea to add products like these every so many fill ups or at every oil change to regularly clean up deposits/dirt that may build up.
However these cleaners usually cannot clear up problems magically. Obviously if the problems are NOT solely related to the things it cleans up, this can do nothing for you. But also even if your injectors and fuel system are badly clogged/very dirty/have stubborn deposits, these cleaners just won't do the job. In that case you'll have to have a professional injector cleaning performed where they use industrial cleaners pressurised through the fuel rail (and sometimes also ultrasonic devices on the injectors themselves) to remove those deposits. And that service is only going to help if dirty injectors are actually causing your horrible acceleration and fuel economy. If it's something else, that isn't going to help you either.
So when you say you "want the problems gone" I'm thinking you're expecting waay to much from a $3-$20 bottle of injector cleaner/fuel system treatment. It's likely that his will not clear up these problems.

You picked opne of the better additives...but MantaGreen is right. What do your spark plugs and air filter look like? You may want to check those out if you haven't already.
Also if you know a little about cars you may want to look into Seafoam as well. It would clean up a lot of what the additive cant.

i used Prestone complete fuel system treatment when we went our trip... I noticed a difference once i filled up on gas again... I could lay down rubber again, no more hesitation...
My MPG's went up as well, on the way out only 28mpg on the way back 32mpg... Not to shabby considering i have the older 3300 with the 3 speed auto...

^You know, I tried the Prestone stuff once as well (silver bottle "complete fuel system treatment" stuff with the shiny, iridescent label, don't know how it looks in the US) and I have to say, it did do similar stuff to what you said. I was impressed. I've used a lot of different fuel system cleaners "in a bottle" and some are definitely better than others. The Prestone stuff definitely goes in that category--better than most others :)

another thing i like is that most other products say to add them on a really low tank, the prestone you can add on a full tank, and it will last 4000 miles...
i also noticed i difference in engine tone as well, high rpms (4000+) seems to be deeper and angrier now... a would recomend it to anyone...

What does this container look like and is it available from C-Tire? And how much does it cost? I tried a Prestone additive and now I can't remember what I put in. It DID seem to make a difference & now I want to try it again. Was it $14.99 a bottle?

Obviously, living in the US, I can't say if Canadian Tire carries it, but I would assume so. Wal-Mart, Autozone... pretty much anywhere that carries that kind of stuff does.
It's in a tall silver bottle... again, a good thing about it is that you can add it after filling up... you don't have to put it in before.

This was the only pic I found of it... I think the label is actually a bit different and more flashy now, but the bottle is the same.
Obviously, a fuel additive isn't going to do much if you have problems, but I swear by this stuff... I wasn't really having any problems with my car being too sluggish or anything, but after using it, I definitely noticed a bit more pick-up. And I've used all different kinds but never noticed any difference with any of the other brands.
As far as price, it runs for around $5-$6 US...

$14.99CN per bottle sounds aboot right.
That's like $6US, eh?
j/k :D
$6 US vs $14.99 CDN? Yeah. The exchange is actually just a small part of the number difference.
First there is the Canadian distributor or perhaps importer, then the forwarder and then the re-marketer and then the final retailer. So many middle men that don't generally exist in the US. And everybody gets their mark-up. Plus the costs of repackaging for bilingual labels, another cost added on.

Plus they also want to sell a few bottles of their product in Canada, so <les Quebecois> have changed our lives, too.
