i got it put in about 3 weeks ago but have been lazy and haven't updated anything except 1 picture

i must say the HU is far better than last years top model, it only has 5v outputs this year but i noticed better sound from my components somehow, i had to adjust some settings on my sub amp though, but overall the unit is better, it looks better, controls better, sounds better, and gives you full control of you ipod from the deck and gives you full color menus that make it easy to navigate the ipod, so basically the ipod serves as a HDD you just store away in the glove compartment and don't mess with unless your using it out of the vehicle, all this comes at a price though, this unit put the beatdown on my pockets so my next mod will have to way about 4 months now, anyways, heres a pic

i like the avn stuff, but i don't like the idea of putting $2500 in one small spot in the car, i'd rather mold a screen in the dash then have a controlling unit somewhere else simply because the its harder to steal, and if they get one piece they'll probably overlook a hidden control module, but i do like the avn stuff, i played with it at the audio place

Yeah that baffles me why Eclipse only gave the CD7000 5v and the CD5000 8 volt pre outs. either way I've never played wit hthe 7000, but the 5000 and the 4000 are both really sweet headunits. I wouldn't look elsewhere for a good quality headunit.

Have you played withthe area shot feature on the 7000 at all? I like the idea on having nav without a big screen, but actuallyhow good is it? I know they also have an optional GPS modual you can add onto the area shot headunits as well thats supposed to make it work better.

I hate the JVC in my Si now that I've added a 4 channel and sub to it. Only has 1 set of pre outs, no idea on their voltage, 2 if lucky, and horrible adjustablilty. I just love having the ability to have AM/FM, CD/ MP3/iPod and DVD all from one source unit.

i can't tell a difference in the 5v vs 8v units, the sound is the same, and yes i have the gps unit for it and its pretty fun to play with, only downside is you can't plan trips on the fly, you have to goto the website and make your trip and stops there, then download to your HU, if you don't have gps you simply have to manually chance maps when you get to a turn, gps unit changes them for you and notifies you when your getting close, also has points of intrest and they're label 1-5 on the map, you press 1-5 and you get info about the point like address, type of point, phone no., etc, but you can't make changes on the fly
