Latley, ive been going back and forth between my room and car and have noticed A LOT of changes in the sound quality, but mostly bass response. I have a Pioneer tsw300( i think) 12" sub in a 1.8cube vented box. Which sounds amazing at only 100~ watts. The question i have is, how can i measure how many watts its being pushed at? I have a multimeter but i cant seem to figure out how to calculate RMS wattage. Same goes for the sub in the grand am.
Which leads me to my next question. While listening to a song in my room, then going to the car and hearing the same song. the bass response is just...crap. Its bridged at 4 ohms, but the booklet that gave the specs said 300 at 2 ohms. Nominal power for the sub is reccomended to be at 250. My guess is its at 150 watts at 4 ohms. My question is, how can i measure the power? Should i wire it at 2 ohms? how would i wire it at 2 ohms? IF i wire it at 2 ohms should i wire each VC to a seperate channel(two channnel amp)? or should i just say "Eff it" and go sealed?
