Ok this is probably stupid and I'm not sure if this is the forum to put it in, but my friend has a '96 ga and earlier today we tried to take the backrest of the backseat out. I know there are alot of forums about how to do it and everything and we know exactly what to do..except the best way to get the torx bolts out. We found the right bit and used a screwdriver attachment and they wouldn't budge, then we used a ratchet and once again nothing. We had my friend's cousin try (big strong guy) and he couldnt do anything either. I don't know why they are so hard to take off, but does anyone know of any tools or strategies to use to take those things out?
Just if you were wondering we're trying to do this to (i think) change the grills, maybe the carpet, and im trying to talk him in to getting new 6x9's.

WD-40 and alot of strength.... those bolts go through to the underside of the car, so they are most likely rusted tight on the underside of the car, which is open to the elements, crawl under the car and spray the hell out of them, eventually they will come out.
i had to use my big impact gun to take those bolts out, breaker bar wouldnt even budge them

If you can get to where the studs stick through the floor, use a wire brush to clean the rust out of the threads. Keep squirting the threads on both sides.

YEa Jim, theyre pretty acessable from under the car, not while the car is on the ground mind you, but they can be reached:)

mine had this good on them, so just just said "Eff it" after getting one out and will save it for when i can get an impact gun near em. then i need to chase the threads to get the goo out.
