Is it recommended to use Mobil1 synthetic oil after my first oil change?

I started using it right after I got the car. It only had 24K on it.

I would wait until the "break-in" period is over.

Mobil 1 is probably the least expensive of the true synthetics. If you're going to use it, I'd put it in right away. There are can be problems with leaking when switching to synthetics later on, especially on higher mileage cars. I had the dealer change my oil the day I bought my GT with Mobil 1 and my filter--didn't want the dino oil in there any longer than it had to be. Then I changed it again at 500 miles. It's probably better to change the oil at 500 miles to remove all the particles (i.e., metal shavings) associated with break-in. If M1 is good enough for factory fill on LS1 engines, it's good enough for my GT.

By the way, you might want to check out this forum www.bobistheoilguy.com. It's a great site but can be very addictive! I've learned a lot about filtration and lubrication. This site www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm also has great info on vehicle break-in.
