for getting a pic at the end of your messages, go to PROFILE, then EDIT PROFILE, then SIGNATURE, put an image signature in there, from photobucket.com or something, you have to sign up for the site first(its free), then copy the IMG signature and put it in signature section in your edit profile.

it will look kinda like this
[IMG]http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j45/GreenGA98/Grand%20Am/gasubs6.jpg[/IMG

as for the car itself....it depends what condition the car is in. Give us some info, like the miles on the car, engine and condition of the engine, does it need any repairs? what about the interior?

IF it is in good conditon, I say go for it
Your friends probably drive 4 banger hondas and stuff
Since your car is a GT, you probably have 3.1 V6
Supe up your American car, it has more power.

DON"T MAKE IT LOOK LIKE RICE
for God's sake, it u do trick it out, make it look classy still
don't make it look like a rice burner

DON"T DO LIST
1.NO huge spoiler, keep it small if u must get one
2.NO fartcan, get a performance muffler like Magnaflow
3.NO useless junk, don't add crap to the car
4.NO huge body kit, the AED one is good, look at some other cars in the forum

For the specs on your car, im not sure maybe 150HP??
Im sure there are parts somewhere out there, if not just mod other grand am parts to fit

Hope all this helps, and remember we take a strong stance against ricing out grand ams....i think?:lol:

8th digit of VIN code:
M = 3100 V6 = 155~160 HP
D = 2.3L Quad 4 DOHC = 150 HP
A = 2.3L HO Quad 4 DOHC = 170 HP

Unless your friends are comparing it to Civic hatchback or something, it's really not that heavy.

no your car isn't really heavy however u will find that modding your car is much more expensive then a civic or something where u can get whatever u want for them off e-bay for like $1 and some envelopes.

search through the appearance mods section and the powertraing performance sections.... this section is used for when your car breaks...

Huh, I thought the 94 GTs were 3.1 V6, maybe that was just an option, I think that was the first year for that.
As for horsepower....maybe 125, my guess

read my first post....WHAT condition is the car itself in?

red98grandamse
07-07-2006, 07:14 PM
94 DOHC 2.3 was roughly 150hp from the factory...

Horsepower ratings specific to 94 are in my last post. (earlier Quad 4's were slightly more) No need to guess.

You'll have a 5-speed then. HO for teh win.

Bad news... weak aftermarket for the car itself. Intake and exhaust = no kits = do it yourself. Good news, there's many engine parts available. The earlier HO exhaust manifolds are larger, W41 cams and memcal is good for 10 HP (if you can find them), etc. Also see the FAQ's at www.quad4forums.com

The Vin A HO Quad 4 / Getrag 5-speed was the standard setup for the GT. The Vin D Quad 4 DOHC / auto was optional, as was the 3100 V6 / auto which seems to be the most common.

so theres not much i can do to my engine then hey... damn
i can still get some exterior styling cant i? and im lookin to put a spoiler on... maybe carbon fibre.... would that work??

Matt95GT
07-08-2006, 08:28 PM
No, I'm trying to say the opposite. There's plenty to do under the hood, and essentially you have one of the best starting points engine wise.

You're going to find zero carbon fiber. Appearance wise, there's a few body kits, all being fiberglass. Personally, I haven't seen any 92-95 kits that looked all that great (as in go well with the car) and/or was durable enough to be actually driven daily.

alright sweet now one last question.... ive heard some cars have an electronic speed limiter...... is there a chance i might have that on my car?:( or am i in the clear? and also to Matt i see that your car (or one of your cars) has a supercharger in it.... is that crap available for my car? ........Turbo????:???:

Matt95GT
07-09-2006, 01:06 PM
Yes, yours is governed to 110 MPH. There's really no reason to exceed it anyway.

Technically the supercharger wasn't available to fit my car either. It was motivated to fit with a grinder, drill press, welder, dremel, etc. There's no turbo manifold make for our cars either. In other words, anything in the realm of boost requires custom fabrication.

well sweet thats not bad thats like 170 km right? (sorry i live in canada:P) so your basicly saying that its almost not worth the effort to put that stuff in? how much hp gain did you get from your supercharger?

Matt95GT
07-10-2006, 09:06 AM
No, it was worth the effort... I'm just saying this is far from being a "bolt on and go" kind of setup. Even if it was bolt-on, fuel & tuning mods are required... nobody retunes these cars, which means you'll need to do this all on your own. I put over a year of research into it first, and spent about $1,500 in fuel/tuning/supporting mods, above the cost of the supercharger itself.

Gained 50+ HP, still using the stock pulley.

Early `94s with the 753 or 303 head were 175 HP. Changed mid-year.
