any of you had any dealingw with a Shelby alarm system? i've never heard of them. but that's what my usual place of business is trying to sell me for my alarm/remote start for my SS. they spoke real highly of them, but you know how that is. i wanted another Code Alarm, but they said that audiovox had bought them and their quality had went down in the past couple years. and apparently alpine quit making alarms. i wouldn't mind another Clifford, but im NOT going to do business with the local Clifford dealer. i was in Circuit City nosing around looking at tv's and asked one of the guys about their Python alarm. of course, same spill about it being "a great alarm".

the shelby is about $600 installed. comes with the LCD paging system, remote start, keyless entry, etc. looked at it on their page and it sounded pretty nice, but that doesn't mean anything.

$600? Lube included? Installs on remote starters usually isn't cheap... but a good 2-way alarm/remote start setup should be under $200 itself.

i didnt think it was too out of line. i paid around $500 for my code alarm a couple years ago. and before that the G5 was about $550-600.

he said it was a complicated install, so im sure they're getting paid well for the installation. just never heard of this company and wondering about reliability.

I never had a chance to actually check out one of those Shelby systems, but they do look an aweful lot like DEI products.

how's DEI reliability? i had heard they went a little downhill. its one of those deals that im sure it's a good alarm cause this place dont sell crap. they're bottom of the line stuff is crossfire. but i hate to drop $600 on something i've never heard of

I believe so man... 1/2 mile range, very nice alarm system.
That is a real good price with install.

If he is a good installer it will be worth every dime.

Alarm is only as good as the install. Boomers that install all my stuff has a life time warranty on all installed equipment.

yeah, they do too. it's the same people i buy all my car audio stuff from. been around long as i can remember. when i buy my home theater im getting it from them too. i figured it was a good alarm, cause like i said, they dont carry crap. but i'd never heard of shelby, so i wasnt 100% sure.

anyways, i guess that seals the deal. looks like the SS will be getting one of these in the next couple months
