Hi I was trying to decide whether to by this car, it has 50,536 miles on it. They said that they didnt want to go below 13,500 for it but with all the options I have seen on blue book it comes up for 12620 or 12785 depending on what you consider premium sound im not sure.

Selected Optional Equipment
Cassette
Premium Sound (XM Radio?)
Leather
Power Seat

They said that this is because it is a "rare" car and that they may be able to let it go for 12,900 what do u guys think I should do?

Sounds like you already gained some bargaining power simply since you left.

IIRC there was close to 2000 30th editions made... it's not exactly a collector car and really only consists of cosmetic options. Feel free to relay that to them. I'm not putting the car down... but don't let them convince you that it's truely a 'rare' car.

Sure... cause of course they're going to try and get as much money from you as possible. These cars have awful resale value and demand... use that to your advantage if this is the car you want.

I knew demand has been down of these for the past few years I may try that and see if I can get them down?

I was prepared to pay 12995.00 for one a few weeks back in orange as the 30th 2003 is my dream Grand Am but upon closer inspection it had not been cared for well enough at that price, it only had 42,000 kilo's on it.
I passed and decided to upgrade my 2001 SE which is like new and at least I know what I am investing in.

Take Care, Pete
