i heard the tensioners die alot on these engines. i was cleaning my engine and noticed a square hole in my tensioner, i looked in and i think i see the rusty coil. would it help if i sprayed WD-40 in it or filled it with gresse? i just want to make it last long

thanks

i dont know about the 3400 but i think they are the same as the 3100, on my 3100 i use the square hole to put the tensioner release tool in. actually pretty easy (to release the tension that is)

The tensioner is designed to be released with a breaker bar (hense the square hole) it doesn't have to be greased.
