If you're reading this, you have found your way to our new server. Sit down, grab a drink from the fridge, and make yourself comfortable.
For those that are interested, here is a little background info. Our web host is relocating their operations from ThePlanet and into AtlantaNAP (http://www.atlantanap.com/). Some advantages include running on shiny new hardware with dual dual-core Opteron 270's (vs the current dual Xeon 2.8Ghz's), 4GB of RAM, and faster RAID 10 arrays (vs the old RAID 5 arrays).
I started transferring the G6 Owners Club at 12:00pm, then the Grand Am Owners Clubat around 12:30. The GAOC took a little over 3 hours to transfer to the new server, then we initiated the DNS changes immediatly afterwards.
Of course, by nature DNS changes take time to replicate around the globe, and some ISPs are faster with updates than others. I've been told that there are still some people that are hitting the old website. I'll leave the old sites up until the first of the week, then they will be cleaned off the old servers.
The transfer was smooth, and no doubt that was a result of careful planning and calling on past experience, as this was probably the 10th time (or more) that we've moved to a different server.
