Hey, im looking for good tires for my 98GA GT, stock rims, im not usre what size they are so im hoping someone with the same year will lol.
I need All seasons, with good wet/dry traction, im actually debating on if i want to use them in winter or not. im thinking of buying some cheap-o rims and slapping my old tires on them and using them for winter..
Either way not much of a price range, just looking for some ideas on whats best..
Need some with excelent handling for high speed turns, i dont know much about tires so im really hoping to get some help..
(no flaming me about meh age :P )
I believe your stock tires are 205/55/16.
So, do you want all seasons or not?
If you want the best all seasons, look for Pirelli PZero Nero M&S. They're somewhat pricey, but they are the best gripping all seasons in wet/dry. They do give up a bit of performance in the snow, but for an all-season, they're decent.
Just beware - there's a PZero Nero (no M&S) that is a summer tire. Obviously, you don't want those in the winter.
While the PZero Neros are good all seasons, they are still all seasons, not race tires. So just keep that in mind.. if you want really good handling, you'd want a set of summer and a set of winter tires, and swap them as appropriate.

195/65/15.......thats mine at least 98 SE, the GT might be different
I went with Dean all season performance......they are a made by COOPER tires
work good in winter and summer, no problems
Can u even drive yet? lol  j/k

I had 205/55/16 Bridgestone Potenza RE950's on my 94 GT. For all season, I would get them again. Dry traction/handling was on par. Wet traction / anti-hydroplane was superior. Unless I was purposely messing around, the wet traction was nearly equal to dry traction. On one occasion a friend was following me in moderate rain. He called me to get me to slow down... had to drop down 10-15 mph... his OEM tires were hydroplaning whenever he tried to match my speed (I wasn't speeding either). Snow... was competent... just not exactly a Blizzak.
Pricewise, they were a nice middleground between el cheapo's and the Pzero Nero's as suggested above.

you live in upstate NY... you WANT somehting that is either all-season, or you will end up switching to different tires around mid october. Summer tires will NOT do up here anytime after mid Oct, and youd be stupid for trying honestly:(
Not trying to be mean, but be smart about what you get.

not to be an ass (yes im mocking u sorry, but like u said im just a child), when the abbreviation "lol" is used almost every other word it usually means that its a joke, or im just being a dick lol..and i thank u for telling me about using summer tires after oct...etc..etc....and all that, and im sorry i came back with a bad attitude (while i dont think i did, but i dont feel like being known as the biggest, yet youngest, ******* on the forum, that would be, eh, kinda bad!)
and i was just pointing out that i basically agreed wit heverything u said, just in my own "special" way....Now, before i get another one of my threads locked, back on topic
(really am sorry though, now when i re-read what i wrote, it is pretty assholish....i think i just made up a word.......sweet..im no n00b either lol, |3|_|7 1 |)0 3/\/_|0`/ 7`/|01/\/9 1/\/ 1337 lol)

Have we even established the correct tire size???
Really it doesn't matter.....as long as it fits
...i think i will stick with all seasons becuase i dont feel like paying for rims for summer tires lol..
Wait....do u have rims on the car now??? Like aftermarket ones?
You are going to need new tires for winter anyways. Using your old tires in winter (unless they are still in good condition) is a good way to get yourself in a wreck, espically since you live somewhere where it snows like no other in winter.:D
If you buy tires, buy all season....unless u plan to buy 2 sets of tires
1. for winter with old rims (winter tires)
2. for summer with good rims (summer tires)
Im just confused right now...kinda
Please explain, and no sarcasm:roll2:
and resize your sig pic! its too big:eek:

I have the stock rims on there now, and the tires that are on there now are in good condition, i think there farely new, but they dont grip enough for me.....
and i decided that i will just get all seasons, less of a hassle
and mike, i planned on using the tires and rims i have now for winter, and using aftermarket rims, and a new set of high performance tires for summer
