im new to this site and im in the hunt of a grand am is there anything in particulur that i should be aware of i know there is some problems with these cars but i really love grand am's to death,im looking for maybe a 01 to 03's.in six months i'll have over $8000 so something in this price range or alittle lower.

It all depends on what engine and trim level you are looking for:) Each engine )3400, 2.4, 2.2) has its ahre of problems, and each engine has very different issues, none really more than the others. If you want a 5 speed, dont expect anything but a 4cyl. Interiors are typical GM.

Welcome to the site, and look around, theres a ton of info on here, and it soulds like you have plenty of time to figure out what youre looking for before you buy.

im mostly looking for the GT style but the SE style i dont mind i want it to have the 3.4L motor i think thats whats in it but not for sure and a sunroof or moonroof mostly a moon and leather if it comes with it.

i want it to have the 3.4L motor Biggest issue with the 3400 is the LIM ( lower intake manifold ) leak . That and the piston slap on some at cold startup .
