I'm the proud new owner of an '05 Grand Am SE. I've had the car about a week and the only thing I don't like is the wheels. My car prior to this was a '93 Lumina which I beat the hell out of and was pretty unconcerned about the looks. Now I have a car payment to make so I'd like it to look nice.

I have absolutely no idea about wheels. I have a nice cushy desk job so my car needs to remain "Professional" looking. Along with my nice cushy desk job... I have a maxed out credit card. So, as you can imagine I'd prefer something simple yet sleek for a fair price.

Because I know nothing about wheels I have no brand preference so I'm open minded. Any suggestions or advice anyone can offer would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Do you like the factory GT rims ? You may be able to buy a set off someone who changed them for after market rims . They look fairly sleek / simple and professional ...

I'm not familiar with the GT wheels. Are they the same as mine only Chrome? If so I'd rather not. I'm not real impressed with these...

Heres a pic. I'm sure you've all seen a million of these, but I'm still proud. Complete blank slate though. Ignore the bug guts if you can see them... I'm gonna wash it tomorrow ;)

For aftermarket wheels go to this site
Discount Tire (http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/brochure/interactive/tmpInteractive.jsp) It puts up a display of your car and lets you see what different wheel and tire size combos will look like on it. It's invaluable.

As for factory wheels, you really got the short end of the stick. The premium 16 inch wheels are nice, but I don't have a pic other than the tiny on in my sig.

Are those wheels? I thought those were hubcaps?

I'm pretty sure you're right... I don't feel like going down to my garage. Even more reason to upgrade soon.

Thoughts? I should also mention that I'll be driving the car during Wisconsin winters. I don't put too many miles on it from work and back, but would rather not try to pull myself out of a ditch.

Did you end up getting these or no? I want to see them on a car so I can make a decision on them :)
