i was thinking the other day, when i realized i might have a head gasket roblem, that i might have dumped too much money into my quad 4. heres a list of stuff

1) New brakes (rotors, the whole 9 yards), new extension pipe and muffler $700
2) Timing chain and motor mounts $700
3) Water Pump $500
4) New coils, plugs, and housing ~$150
5) Flowmaster Muffler and piping ~$120
6) Motor Mounts AGAIN Free

this is all the stuff i can think of off the top of my head, and that doesnt include al the cosmetics ie....rims and tires $700, and all the little things. Keep in mind though that i didnt pay a dime for the car since it was inherited and it had 64K miles on it, and i put 23K on in a year or so. tell me what you guys think.......seriously

well are you planning on keeping the car for a while if so then I think not, but if your planning on getting rid of it soon then maybe you did. As far as the head gasket it's not the hard to fix just takes a while but once you fix it it will run alot better and you did most of the other stuff all ready so you will not have any more problems with it in the future.

well think of it this way... you've dumped a lot less into it then you would a car payment. :)

cars aren't "investments" unless your going high dollar exotics... and even those aren't the best investments many times... you mod for pure plessure

on a side note... i'd HIGHLY sugest spending the labor money on you next major repair on buying a repair manual and a good set of tools... after you've got tools and know how repairs get so much cheaper then letting somone else that charges $40 an hr or more do stuff :)
