Question about swapping calipers....

As many of you know, I have the Baer brake system on my car, the braking application is for a:

Applications for:
1995-2005 Cavalier 2.2L
1995-2005 Sunfire 2.2L

Recently I had to replace my pads, I called BAER and found out that the

88-96 c4 corvette PADS fit and the
94 & up cobra mustang pads also fit

so i ended up using corvette pads, and it worked just fine, heres the question...would i be able to use COBRA calipers with my braking system?.....

Hmm... But aren't your calipers already as good/better than Cobra calipers?

But just because the same pads fit, doesn't mean the caliper will. I mean it could, but it doesn't have to... Mounting the pads to the caliper is one thing but the caliper-to-knuckle mounting may be different than with your calipers. Best way to find out for sure is probably just to go to a parts store with one in stock and see how it mounts ;)

PS: Did you put a rear disc conversion on your car too or is it just upgraded fronts?

Hey....well the only reason i thought about maybe swapping them is because the shop had to shave off my calipers so they could clear my rims, dosent effect the performance of them, but im picky..i liked the BAER logo...lol....i figure if the COBRA calipers fit, it would be cool to have them in black with white lettering saying COBRA....i also figured that if they fit, they would perform the same as the BAER calipers, but i cant be sure...i was more curious in asking this question then actually serious about doing it....i only have the upgraded front...i really want the rear as well....but im REALLY HAPPY/PLEASED with the current braking

Wow so you really squeezed that caliper in there eh? It's ashame you had to lose the Baer logo :(

So just the upgraded front... Do you still get the soft/poor brake feel (compared to all discs) from the line pressure the drums take up?

honestly...the calipers used are the c4 calipers. from my research, the c5 and c6 calipers are exactly the same, just less metal. if you get them from auto zone you can get them powdercoated red and they dont say corvette. you can get baer logos cut in vinyl, lay those down, then spray over it silver paint. remove the vinyl, and wala, youre done.
