Hello everyone. I am from Ontario and I am wanting to buy my friends car..It is a 97 Pontiac Grand Am with 240 thousand miles V6 in great shape and she took very good care of it with oil changes and other maintanance ...Everytime it had a problem it went to the shop no dicking around...she wants $1500 CAD As is ...Should I go for it or what .... Car looks like its in excellent condition and it's a coupe , but that's alot of miles are you sure you didn't mean kilometers ... :???:

the car looks good....I would still have it checked out by a different mechanice. I notice that it has the 3.1 V6 motor. Check to make sure the lower intake gasket isn't leaking or if it has already been replaced. They are notorious on the 3.1 to leak. Also with that many km on the tranny, I would start to think it may be near the end of its life of running trouble free. So if you don't mind repairing that if it happens or other minore things...I say go for it.
