i was wondering what i could use to put around the lettering of my trim.. im gonna paint it black the grand am se thats engraved in the side... what should i put around it so that i dont spray more than just that?

its gonna be awful hard to do. why not just get black vinyl from customgrandam.com or one of the other vinyl places that are in the links section? its precut, not too hard to install, and its much much cleaner.. and removable if you decide you dont care fo it :)

however if you really want to paint it....

youd have to use masking tape and run it over the lettering then cut out the letters themselves (the parts you want paint on) and then mask off the rest of the car. I would actually remove the SE door panel and paint it off the car so you dont get black paint all over your car.
The panels have 2 or 4 screws on the inside of the door holding it to the door, then a few clips underneath it holding it to the car... should take 10 min to pull off, and thatd be much easier than trying to mask off enough of the car to protect it from overspray.
