My car started fine when i first drove it this morning. I went to my high school. When I went to start the car in the high school parking lot, i got nothing. No cranking or anything. The battery wasn't dead, but i tried to jump it anyways. Well after messing with it for a while, I called my Dad. He came up to help me. Both of us could not figure out what was wrong with the car. We thought maybe a wire to the starter or the solinoid.
Finally I called a tow truck and had it towed up to Conrads( Big Mistake:mad: ). Well I though.....ok.....new starter.....maybe $200 bucks or something. No big deal...right?
So they took a look at the car and tested the electrical system. They called me up with some bad news. They said that it wasn't the electrical system, but the ignition system. They said it was the lock cylinder assembly in the ignition. It wasn't turning properly and causing the car not to start. I was pissed cause the last owner of the car had this fixed at a dealership right before he sold it to me. (Darn dealership!!)
Best part of the story right here. After his rant about the important of this repair, and how i might have to carry 2 keys......he told me the repair would be over $600!!!!!!
I told him to stop working on my car right away. I called another local repair shop( who i trust, but didn't have an opening), and I told them about the price. The guy said "holy **** and told me to take it somewhere else. He pointed me in the direction of a locksmith.
Got it towed up to the locksmith and asked them about the repair. They said it would be somewhere around $150:D
So thats where my car is tonight and hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow.
Comments? Never go to Conrads!!!;)
Oh, and will they have to take out my radio to get to this thing, cause i don't know how long my wires are:???: ?
